Summary:
The Safety Manager would create and manage all safety programs. The position will provide ex-pert advice and opinions to leadership to create a safety culture. The safety manager will super-vise one direct report and be responsible for OSHA reporting and workers compensation pro-gram. The Safety Manager will attend all audits and audit preparations as a member of the team.
Essential Functions:
- Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
- Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training pro-grams.
- Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises
- Provides management team with guidance on health and safety and confirm work locations fulfill industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for work injury and incident notification, investigation, and OSHA record keeping
- Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
- Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, and good engineering practices.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises the Safety Coordinator and serves as a coach and mentor for safety related issues across all departments.
Work Environment
Work is primarily in an office setting, with visits to outdoor facilities where exposure to the weather will occur. Travels to various sites where PPE (personal protective equipment) is re-quired.

- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time.
- Fine hand movement on a frequent basis
- Lifting, bending and stooping on an occasional basis
- Walk on uneven terrain on occasion
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some weekend work as needed.
Travel
Local travel to various worksites is required.
Required Education and Experience
- Extensive knowledge of safety as it relates to manufacturing and farms.
- Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience
- OHSA training certifications
Preferred Education and Experience
- Safety certifications preferred.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.
