QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN – QUALITY CONTROL DEPARTMENT
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors, 1st piece inspection on setups of dies, in process, final inspection and random sampling of outgoing products for shipping.
- Verify measuring tools are calibrated and in good condition prior to each use.
- Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
- Discuss quality concerns with Department Supervisors/Leads and tool room if necessary.
- Read/interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
- Document all inspections in QC software and on the paper routers.
- Measure product dimensions, examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications. Perform destructive Weld Testing where required.
- Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
- Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
- Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
- Support Quality Engineering function on PPAP’s, customer concerns, and ISO program.
- Perform roaming spot audits of the production process.
- Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
- Ensures Non-conforming materials are properly identified and segregated and alerts management of material status.
- Provides necessary resources to check in Steel upon arrival, verifies certs are available and can be provided for final parts shipment when requested by customers.
Requirements:
· High School diploma or GED required (Background in quality control)
· Experience using measuring tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, Dial Indicators)
· Strong communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
· Good math and technical abilities
· Ability to interpret drawings and inspection materials
· Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
· Must be able to stand at workstation for long periods of time
· Must have reliable transportation
· Regular Working schedule 7am – 3:30pm with overtime as required
