Job Overview
Rivermont Collegiate is seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Band Teacher to join our educational team for the 2025-2026 school year. The band teacher will provide music education to students, focusing on developing their instrumental skills, music theory knowledge, and appreciation of various genres of music. The Band Teacher will work with students at different skill levels and will be responsible for leading band rehearsals, individual lessons, and possibly organizing performances throughout the academic year.
Duties
- Teach instrumental music to students in grades 6-8 and 9-12.
- Develop lesson plans that are engaging, age-appropriate, and support the school's curriculum goals.
- Provide individual and group instruction on various band instruments, including but not limited to, woodwinds, brass, and percussion.
- Introduce students to music theory, ear training, and sight-reading techniques.
- Assess students progress and provide regular feedback on performances,
- Prepare students for school events/performances.
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Experience in teaching instrumental music and leading a band.
- Experience in playing ad teaching various instruments.
- Understanding of music theory and performance techniques.
- Ability to work with students of varying skill levels.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop their musical talents.
- Background check is required.
Compensation
Based upon education and experience.
