Your Role as a Counselor
- Therapeutic Counseling – Lead individual and group counseling sessions using positive, evidence-based therapeutic techniques to support student growth.
- Individualized Planning – Develop and implement personalized IEP goals and behavior/treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs.
- Confidentiality Compliance – Uphold strict student confidentiality in alignment with agency policy, FERPA/HIPAA regulations, and professional ethics.
- Staff Collaboration – Foster strong, confidential therapeutic relationships between staff and students while offering recommendations for improvement.
- Progress Documentation – Maintain daily service logs aligned with IEP goals and ensure timely completion of required reports.
- Consistent Routine – Work a steady weekday schedule aligned with the school calendar—no nights or weekends required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience as a Counselor, Therapist or Social Worker.
- Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and staff.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for Special Education, demonstrated by patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed.
