Riverpoint Medical in Northeast Portland is hiring for Shipping Specialist. At Riverpoint you will be part of the process that brings great technology to Medical, Dental and Veterinary markets. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of premium medical devices. Our ingenuity can be found in our suture technologies, sports medicine fibers and anchors, surgical lighting, and special needle technologies. The Shipping Specialist works with production to support the input and output of goods through the business process. They will be responsible to support the Warehouse and Shipping Manager to maintain and improve shipping/receiving practices and processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, safety, and quality within their responsible area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares orders by processing requests and supply orders; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Completes reports by entering required information
- Assist shipping and receiving unloading trucks and checking in merchandise
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to organizational standards
- Open bales, crates, and other containers
- Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders, printing request, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed through a computer. May also assist in counting of physical inventory
- Prepare parcels for mailing
- Operates forklift to accomplish shipping/receiving duties
Education and Qualifications
- 1-year previous warehouse experience preferred
- Good communication, organizational, time management, and mathematical skills
- Proficient computer skills required
- Experience with shipping software preferred
- Inventory, data entry and computer skills may be required
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs.
- Forklift certification preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
