Responsibilities :
The Brain Injury Program Director is responsible for the integrity of the nursing center Brain Injury program, including training on the behavioral, emotional, and cognitive implications of acquired brain injury, and consultation with therapy and nursing staff, coordination of inpatient and outpatient neuropsychological treatment as well as cognitive, behavioral, and emotional screening examinations.
- Participate or send representation to interdisciplinary team meetings to report on patient / resident's neuropsychological status when neuropsychological and behavioral services have been requested.
- Serve as the community spokesperson for the Brain Injury program and participate in external marketing and educational opportunities designed to assure the nursing center's reputation as a regional center of excellence for brain injury rehabilitation with a focus on cognitive remediation.
- Collaborate with the nursing center medical director and the Vice President of Medical Affairs to provide clinical expertise to nursing center and regional clinical staff.
- Assure compliance with regulatory requirements and participation in the survey process.
- Monitor the utilization and quality outcomes achieved by the Brain Injury program.
