During this internship, students will gain knowledges and practical experience in the following areas of Finance:
- Finance - General
- Planning and Analysis
- Auditing
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- In accordance with established procedures completes daily revenue audits
- Tracks and reports variances
- Completes required audit forms
- Ensure that all revenues/expenses are supported by properly authorized documentation and recorded to the proper account
- Report and maintain daily revenues from all outlets
- Maintain Point of Sale reports
- Assist in maintaining compliance with the Internal Control System
- Date stamps all A/P paperwork including check requests, receivers, bills of ladings, packing slips, receipts, invoices, and any other relevant attachments
- Data process invoices in purchasing system and AP system accurately and efficiently, while auditing the invoices against purchase orders to identify discrepancies such as price variances, weight entry errors, and G/L account code errors
- Work with the Accounting, Receiving and Purchasing departments to resolve discrepancies
- Review invoice entries for accuracy and proper documentation, then proof invoice batches in AP system and turn in for posting
- Performs analysis on marketing programs and initiatives as well as on all operational and labor related programs and initiatives
- Assist in the development of the annual budget, marketing calendar, and the preparation of monthly financial and operational reports
- Acts as an integral part of the financial/strategic planning team by providing analytical expertise and consulting support to all departments and upper management
- Assist in the preparation of the reconciliation of applicable general ledger accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist in the preparation of payroll tax reporting
- Perform other projects and duties, as assigned
- A project will be assigned during internship and must be concluded by the end of the internship and may include some or all of the following:
- Research
- Learning about competitors
- Figuring out better systems or processes
- Creating a presentation
- Final review of internship
- Must be 21 years or older
- Current or recent enrollment in graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in Finance or Accounting
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Suite
- Students majoring in Finance or Accounting preferred
- Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information
- Ability to analyze and interpret established policies and procedures
- Deal with the general public, customers, associates and government officials with tact and courtesy
- Complete all assigned tasks, reports, projects, etc. in a professional manner and on and on-time basis
- Must be able to lift to 25 lbs. with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling of 0bjects
- Prolonged period of sitting, standing, and walking
- Regularly required to see, talk and hear, use of manual dexterity including reaching, handling and feeling
- Exposure to high noise level for prolonged periods of time
- Rotating schedules based on business needs
