Job Functions
- Maintains the knowledge of a surveillance operator at all times.
- Ensures adherence to all departmental policies and procedures, conducts ongoing training, keeps up with departmental objectives, promotes outstanding customer relations and ensures all transactions are conducted within state gaming and internal regulations.
- Observe, document and report on all areas under surveillance to ensure compliance of internal regulations, policies and procedures, as well as, all state and federal regulations.
- Record and observe all casino games, count rooms, slots, keno, casino cage and non-gaming areas.
- Must possess a working knowledge of all casino games, policies and procedures, card counting techniques and having a working knowledge of different cheating techniques.
- Write detailed investigative reports.
- Document and report any disciplinary issues to the Director/Shift Manager.
- Effectively communicate with all departments.
- Ensure that all Surveillance notebooks as well as all printing and/or copying is updated and maintained.
- Ensure that personnel are performing the necessary guidelines that are outlined in the departments' policies and procedures manual.
- Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Assist in conducting training of new hires and assist in the evaluation of manpower needs to ensure departmental objectives are being achieved.
- Work with the Director and Shift Managers in coordinating activities related to the surveillance of gaming tables, slot machines, cashier's cage and non-gaming related areas (back of the house, retail, etc.).
- Promote outstanding customer relations and ensures all transactions are conducted within the states gaming and internal regulations.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Good computer skills preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months Surveillance experience required.
- Good verbal and writing skills.
- Must be able to work in pressure situations and be self motivated.
- Must possess sound and mature judgment.
- Above average organizational/planning skills.
- Ability to communicate with Team members and guests
- Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
- Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
- Will be required to sit and stand for long periods at a time.
- Must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
- Must possess the ability to effectively communicate with other departments by either telephone or radio.
- Must possess the ability to bend over and reach from floor level to 6 feet and be able to lift five (5) pounds
- Must possess the ability to work in small areas where the temperature can range from extremely hot or extremely cold at times.
- Must be able to work in dimly lit or dark areas and in close proximity with other employees for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be a team player cooperating with employees within the department, and with other departments.
