Essential Job Functions

  • Maintains strong community relationships that can be leveraged to grow the business and drive business results through initiatives and programs throughout the community.
  • Develops and expands relationships with community leaders and media representatives.
  • Supports strategic marketing initiatives and represents the organization at community events.
  • Serves as the Diversity Task Force leader as identified in Rivers Diversity Plan. Works to advance and monitor Team Member’s involvement and results in fulfilling the company’s Diversity and Inclusion Plan.
  • Collaborates with the Vice President of Finance and procurement team to identify and encourage the participation of minority, disadvantaged, and women-owned businesses.
  • Ensures the representations and participations of diverse groups in the ownership and operation of businesses that will serve the facility and provide goods and services to the facility.
  • Advocates for an organizational culture that is sensitive to a wide range of disciplines, interests, and constituencies represented while maintaining a deep commitment to diversity as part of the company's public ambition. Listens to and gives voice to emergent issues of DEI within the company and local communities, as it affects the company.
  • Directs and administers the charitable contributions, grants and volunteer programs.
  • Works closely with Public Relations firm in managing the team’s volunteer involvement in the community and ensuring appropriate media attention is given to the events.
  • Ensures that project/department goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
  • Develops short and long term plans and strategies that support community recruitment and Team Member relationships.
  • Knowledgeable in company policies and programs to ensure a positive and inclusive work environment that engages team members and drives operational excellence.
  • Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal employment laws and regulatory guidelines.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing Communications, Public Affairs or Business preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills with keen ability to make decisions with detailed information.
  • Strategic mindset, critical thinker, and innovative.
  • Experience developing and managing community programs to impact the business
  • Experience in leadership, collaborative, and community initiatives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to relate well with all levels of the organization; strong listening and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer skills required include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Physical And Mental Demands

  • Regularly required to see, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.
  • Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and courteous demeanor.
