Job Summary:
Maintain the integrity of the Casino’s gaming operations through effective CCTV monitoring and investigation of the casino’s activities on a per-shift basis. Notify casino management of non-compliance with regulations, internal controls, and rules of the games as well as when integrity of assets are compromised. Report violations and remedial measures taken. Cooperate with Casino when surveillance coverage is required.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitors all areas of the property at all times, identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting them to the appropriate individual or entity for proper resolution
- Ensures the quality of operations in the Surveillance Department on assigned shift
- Maintains a working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the Virginia Lottery Commission and ensures strict adherence to the same throughout the property
- Protects casino assets and gaming integrity through the consistent, thorough monitoring of all activities on property, particularly on the the gaming floor
- Directs the flow of Surveillance reports to the proper individuals within the casino, always maintaining the highest level of confidentiality
- Ability to lead, train, and develop Surveillance Team Members on assigned shift of duties and responsibilities, and ensures they are completed in a timely , efficient manner
- Reviews all daily activity reports and prepares shift reports for management
- Coordinates with the Virginia Gaming Board and other departments, when Surveillance discovers a matter which needs further investigation or attention as appropriate
- Observes, documents, records, and reports any unusual or suspicious activities on property
- Review Surveillance video and reports, providing detailed information to appropriate casino officials and outside agencies as needed
- Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of years surveillance experience in investigative techniques either with law enforcement or gaming with emphasis on financial fraud or theft
- Must be able to learn and understanding of all aspects of a digital surveillance system utilized in the surveillance environment
- Must be able to learn of operating a digital system in regard to workstations, software utilized, downloading, sending information, hardware, cabling, programming and configurations, settings, etc., related to operations such a systems
Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
- Able to obtain and retain gaming license/registration as required by jurisdiction(s).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedures manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents
- Ability to learn and retain information from all cash handling department including knowledge and understanding of casino math and table games
- Ability to write effective reports, memos, equipment repair logs, training guides and inventory control programs
- Ability to create computer programs and organize spreadsheets
- Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one, small group, and large group situations
- Ability to read, write and communicate verbally in English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent, and to interpret data from graphs
- Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations

Physical, Environmental, and other requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be able to grip or grasp items for 75% of the time
- Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week, including holidays
- Working in an office environment and throughout the property in all locations
- Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust.
