Essential Job Functions:
- Primary objective of the Surveillance Investigator is to complete Title 31/Compliance investigations, and any other investigations deemed necessary by Surveillance leadership
- Monitor all areas of the property always, identifying potential security and/or safety risks and reporting them to the appropriate individual or entity, for proper resolution
- Utilizes necessary equipment to identify, record, document and report illegal, suspicious or unusual activities occurring on property
- Maintains working knowledge of all rules and regulations of the New York State Gaming Commission and ensures strict adherence
- Must be able to pass various tests to include but not limited to all table games and Surveillance systems
- Protects casino assets and gaming integrity through the consistent, thorough monitoring of all activities on property, particularly on the gaming floor
- Participates in confidential internal and external investigations
- Conducts research on subpoena requests from state and federal authorities
- Completes daily reports and incident reports to document your activity
- Held accountable for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports
- Supports other employees, supervisors and management, regarding protection of assets in their respective departments; Assumes responsibility for the Supervisor in their absence
- Coordinates with the Security Department when Surveillance discovers a matter which needs further investigation or attention
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- One or more years of casino surveillance experience required
- Ability to identify color (casino chips are color coded)
- Basic math skills - pre-employment assessment required (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required, some college preferred
- Ability to analyze documents and reports
- Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays
- Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing
Working Conditions:
- Regularly required to see, talk and hear; use of hand to finger dexterity, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms; stand and/or walk for prolonged period of time
- Must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
- Frequently required to stoop, crouch or kneel
- Must be able to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to interact with others while maintaining a courteous and positive demeanor
- Possible exposure to high noise level for extended period of time
