What are the responsibilities and job description for the Banquet houseperson position at Rivers Casino?
Job Summary :
Set banquet rooms in accordance with the floor plans for each event. This includes but is not limited to the setting up of tables, chairs, place settings, stages, dance floors, etc.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Is responsible for cleaning the banquet area as assigned.
- Is responsible for bussing tables, stocking, and maintaining side stations during events.
- Maintain side stands, cleanliness of banquet area, and stocked the prescribed pars.
- Assist guests in a professional and friendly manner
- Follow directions from management at all times.
- Maintain proper uniform and name tag and ensure a neat and clean appearance at all times.
- Empty trash and stock bus carts as needed.
- Sweep, clean, and mop areas as assigned
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements :
- High School Diploma
- Self-starter with an open mind, positive nature, and enthusiasm.
Certifications, Licenses, and / or Registrations :
Gaming license as required by jurisdiction.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Requires regular, predictable attendance.
- Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and customers.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
- Ability to communicate with Team members and guests
- Ability to be a TEAM player
- Ability to successfully fulfill the pre-employment process
- Ability to work flexible shifts and days of the week including holidays
Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Requires prolonged standing, walking, bending with occasional sitting, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder level, squatting, and kneeling.
- Requires mobility, bending, and reaching from floor level to 6 ft.
- Requires eye / hand coordination, manual dexterity, normal hearing, and normal vision.
- Requires the use of electrical equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
- May be required to transport, push, pull, and / or maneuver carts weighing up to and over 100 lbs. through crowded areas
- Ability to work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, bright lights, smoke, and dust.
