Registration Specialist (Overnights)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Registration Specialist to join our team at Rivers Edge Hospital. As a key member of our Patient Financial Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth registration process for patients.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors with a warm smile and a helpful attitude.
- Register patients accurately and efficiently, verifying patient demographics and billing information as needed.
- Assist patients with mobility issues and provide support when necessary.
- Answer phone calls promptly and route them to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Coordinate paperwork and distribute necessary forms to various departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and lobby, adhering to River's Edge Hospital & Clinic policies and procedures.
- Protect patient confidentiality and maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure departmental goals and objectives are met.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to resolve any issues that may arise.
Departmental Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records and balances of cash drawer transactions.
Other Duties:
- Participate in facility committees and work teams as assigned.
- Maintain current awareness of changes in departmental and hospital policies and procedures by reviewing posted information.
- Support orientation and training of new employees and students.
- Complete special projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Prior work experience in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to manage complex work environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Typing speed of 50 wpm.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
