Job Details

  • Med Surg RN position at Rivers Edge Hospital
  • Focus on heavy ortho post-op care including hips, knees, spine, shoulder, GYN, general post-op, pneumonia, CHF, COPD, and geriatric patients.

    • Job Requirements

  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • PALS certification required
  • One previous travel assignment
  • Proficient in starting IVs on unit
  • Experience with orthopedics is a must

    • Schedule Information

  • Contract length : 13 weeks
  • Three 12-hour shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM
  • Every third weekend requirement
  • Facility rotation for holidays every third holiday
  • Block scheduling allowed depending on needs

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Charge RN rarely takes a patient assignment; focuses on discharges
  • Two nurse aides per shift
  • Navy blue scrubs; scrub jackets navy, any color for undershirts
  • Unit orientation includes three 12-hour shifts, one on days for program access

    • Additional Details

  • All paperwork due 7 business days before start - Noon CST
  • Nurse to patient ratios : 1 : 4 days and 1 : 5 nights based on acuity
  • No monitor techs; nurses must read tele strips
