What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Assistant position at Rivers Health?
Rivers Health is seeking a Food Service Assistant who will be able to assist:
- Responsible for assembling patient meals on tray line.
- Sets up patient tray line for service.
- Washes dishes, pots, and pans.
- Maintains proper sanitation standards with washing equipment.
- Prepares cold food and garnishes patient meals.
- Operates and uses food service equipment (including cash register)
to established procedures.
- Responsible for effective use of materials (portion control).
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing plates, utensils and small
wares.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Pushes patient food carts to floors at breakfast and lunch (dinner
as needed).
- Complies with Hospital Policies, Departmental Policies and
Procedures and Personnel Employee Handbook.
- Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
- Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration.
- Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on
quality improvement teams.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have food handlers card.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
None.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must be able to read and write. Must have basic math skills. Must
be able to understand and communicate with patients and customers of all
ages.
