Rivers Health is seeking a full-time Nursing Assistant.
JOB SUMMARY:
Renders patient care and a variety of procedures under supervision of
registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
JOB RELATIONSHIPS:
Responsible to: Director of Med./Surg.
Registered Nurse
Nature of supervision received: Direct

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job.
The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below; and specific functions may change from time to time.
- Delivers and documents care according to hospital policies,
procedures and philosophies.
- Follows strict aseptic technique at all times. Uses sterile
technique when indicated.
- Observes and reports all patient concerns and changes in condition
to a Nurse immediately.
- Safely transports patients, supplies, and specimens.
- Respects patient's privacy rights, respects values of individual
patients, and provides care accordingly.
- Assists with orientation of new employees.
- Completes all annual competencies.
- Assists with unit cleanliness.
- Performs other duties that may be assigned.
- Complies with Corporate Policies, Procedures and Personnel Employee
Handbook.
- Must be able to cross-train to other units.
- Demonstrates excellence in customer service skills.
- Fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration. Participates in
unit meetings.
- Participates in quality improvement activities including serving on
quality improvement teams.
Requirements:
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
Basic ability to read, write and understand simple instructions. CPR
required. Meet unit proficiency standards. High school graduate or
equivalent required. BLS required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in health care facility delivering direct patient care preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Must demonstrate the ability to effectively recognize the unique needs of
patients of all ages. Must demonstrate the ability to perform effectively on the unit, while coping with highly stressful situations and set priorities for multiple tasks.
