Veterinary Care Professional

Riverside Animal Hospital, a one-doctor appointment-only practice, is seeking a full-time or part-time veterinary assistant to join its clinic family. The estimated annual salary for this position is around $45,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary

We are looking for an animal-loving individual who can assist our doctors and veterinary staff in exam rooms, perform administrative tasks, and maintain a clean environment. Our ideal candidate has 1 years of experience in animal care or a clinic setting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Veterinary Assistant Responsibilities

• Obtain client information and patient medical history
• Bring animals back to the exam room and perform initial evaluations
• Perform diagnostics, digital radiographs, in-house laboratory tests (IDEXX)
• Assist in holding and restraining animals during exams and surgical procedures
• Clean and sterilize instruments, equipment, and tools
• Ensure exam rooms are stocked and sterilized
• Change animal bandages, bedding, and kennel materials
• Administer medications
• Communicate with owners and families on instructions
• Perform administrative duties such as updating files and processing payments

Veterinary Assistant Qualifications

• 1 years of experience in animal care or a clinic setting
• Able to communicate clearly with clients and staff
• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
• Basic understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Attention to detail in maintaining accurate patient records
