As a veterinary assistant at Riverside Animal Hospital, you will be responsible for:
- Obtaining client information and patient medical history
- Bringing animals back to the exam room and performing an initial evaluation
- Performing diagnostics, digital radiographs, in-house and reference laboratory (IDEXX)
- Assisting in holding and restraining animals during exams and surgical procedures
- Cleaning and sterilizing instruments, equipment, and tools
- Ensuring exam rooms are stocked and sterilized
- Changing animal bandages, bedding, and kennel materials
- Ensuring all cages and kennels are clean
- Administering medications
- Assisting in collecting samples such as blood or urine for testing
- Communicating with owners and families on instructions
- Performing administrative duties such as updating files and processing payments
