Job Summary And Qualifications

The Infection Preventionist promotes and delivers high quality, patientcentered care by assisting with

the administration of Infection Prevention policies, procedures and programs.

• You will identify, investigate, report and monitor the incidence of nosocomial infections among patients and personnel
• You will implement policies and procedures to prevent cross-contamination
• You will be responsible for assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and infection control, and with the clinical aspects of the Employee Health Program, including pre-employment processing, occupational health testing and surveillance.
  
  

What qualifications you will need:

• Valid California RN license preferred
• Certification in Infection Control (when eligible).
• Bachelor Degree required.
• Masters or MPH preferred.
• Completion of CDC course work or equivalent within established time frame.
• Two years of experience in acute hospital care.
• Current knowledge of and skill in infection control and prevention (preferred), collection, statistical analysis, and report formatting.

It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County. The hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center and has a HeartCare Institute that offers both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures.
