Job Summary And Qualifications
Under general direction of the Director, Manager and or the Shift Coordinator provides respiratory therapy to all age group patients who have deficiencies and/or abnormalities associated with Cardiopulmonary RCP I. NICU RCP II with a minimum of 1-year Level II experience, performs neonatal intubations and meets California Children Society requirements. Performs routine respiratory therapy procedures as prescribed by a physician. Routine procedures are defined as those procedures which are ordered on a recurring basis (i.e. IPPB, HHN, MDI, USN, 02, Therapy, etc.) in non-critical areas. Job Summary And Qualifications

- You will perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy
- You will assist with placement of artificial airways. You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation
- You will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy
- You will cite indications, contraindications, risks, and benefits for venoarterial and venovenous ECMO support
- You will prepare and operate clinical equipment and circuitry per ECMO policies/procedures
- You will perform all circulatory technical skills with efficiency, accuracy and safety while anticipating, troubleshooting, intervening, and managing crises/emergency situations according to policy and procedure
- Completion of a Respiratory Technician, or A.S. Therapist Certificate Program from an AMA approved one- or two-year Respiratory Therapy program
- Current California RCP licensure
- Current BCLS
- Current PALS
- Prefer national certification in Perinatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist
- Prefer prior experience in the field of Respiratory Therapy in an acute care hospital
