Job Summary: The Grade PK-5 Building Principal will align practices and be evaluated with Iowa’s School Leadership Standards and Criteria. To provide administrative support in the Oakland Elementary School (Grades PK-2) and Carson Elementary School (Grades 3-5). To assist staff and students in identifying and implementing instructional needs that meet the needs of the district's overall vision for instruction.
Qualifications:
- A master's degree in PK-12 Administration and an Iowa Administrative Certificate with an Evaluator endorsement.
- Extensive experience with instructional technology and administrative applications.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff and stakeholders.

Reports to: Superintendent
Supervises: Grade PK-5 Certified and Classified Staff
Evaluation: Performance of this job to be evaluated annually by the Superintendent.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of both the Oakland Elementary School (Grades PK-2) and Carson Elementary School (Grades 3-5).
- Supervise and evaluate teachers and staff, ensuring the implementation of instructional needs aligned with the district's vision.
- Work with the superintendent on staffing, including recruitment, evaluation, and scheduling.
- Maintain school facilities and supplies.
- Manage student attendance.
- Implement and promote school policies, procedures, and student welfare programs.
- Stay updated on educational practices and contribute to district administrative team efforts.
- Serve as a liaison among staff, students, parents, and the community.
- Take on additional duties as assigned by the superintendent.
Physical and Environmental Demands:
- Regularly requires communication and manual dexterity for computer use.
- Occasionally involves lifting up to 25 pounds and standing or crouching for extended periods.
- Work often extends beyond a standard 40-hour week as needed.
- Travel and time split between Oakland and Carson elementary buildings.
