POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The job of Braille Transcriber under general supervision, is done for the purpose(s) of transcribing a wide variety of kindergarten through twelfth grade instructional materials, textbooks, graphs, and charts into a medium that can be used for students who are visually impaired. The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) is a service agency supporting the county’s 23 school districts that serve nearly 430,000 students. RCOE provides administrative support to districts, leads programs for preschool, special education, pregnant minor, corrections, migrant, and vocational students, and offers professional training, support and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff throughout Riverside County.

One year of experience or training producing and formatting literary Braille and Nemeth Code.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or equivalent
CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES:
Valid California driver’s license may be required
Possession of a valid Library of Congress Braille Transcriber’s Certificate
Salary : $24 - $31
