The job of Teacher, Autism is done for the purpose(s) of developing special education students’ success in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students’ specific needs; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) is a service agency supporting the county’s 23 school districts that serve nearly 430,000 students. RCOE provides administrative support to districts, leads programs for preschool, special education, pregnant minor, corrections, migrant, and vocational students, and offers professional training, support and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff throughout Riverside County.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university required; Master’s Degree desirable.
CERTIFICATES/CREDENTIALS/LICENSES:
•Possession of a valid California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist or equivalent Special Education teaching credential authorizing instruction in a moderate/severe disabled program or Mild/Moderate Education Specialist with added Authorization in Autism Spectrum Disorder (Intern eligibility will be considered)
•CTEL Certification or EL equivalent such as CLAD, BCLAD, or SDAIE
•Applicants who are applying for a valid credential or have not utilized their credentials within the last 39 months of employment in a school district must show verification of meeting the Basic Skills Requirement
•Successful candidates will be compliant with the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) at the secondary level in Math, Science, English, and Social Science or become compliant within one year of employment
•Valid California Driver’s License may be required
Salary : $59,281 - $117,849
