What You Will Do
- Follows standard service protocols as outlined in the Guest Service Training manual. Supports the Food & Nutrition Service department and clinical teams in providing excellent patient, guest, and team member service, providing all with a memorable food and dining experience.
- Responsible for assisting in the food tray make-up area by starting, assembling, and/or checking and loading completed patient food trays.
- Delivers patient trays to patient bedside and/or nursing units (as applicable), within established time limits so there will be minimal temperature loss and patients will be fed at required times. Uses two patient identifiers and follows all infection control safety guidelines.
- Demonstrates the competence to complete cold food prep and assembly assignments as well as the preparation of handcrafted specialty coffee/teas.
- Stock put away and rotated (to ensure FIFO) in a timely manner without any stock being left out or kept beyond expiration.
- Is competent in the use of Room Service software when assisting patients with telephone call backs or personal visitation as needed while ensuring adherence to all diet orders. Receives phone calls or faxes for food requests.
- Demonstrates the ability to operate the POS cash register, taking money, and making change and provide timely and accurate customer service in retail operations. Serves in retail area by acknowledge customers and responding quickly to their needs as well as demonstrating competence in food presentation, proper portion control, and plating techniques.
- Demonstrates the ability to use time effectively and during periods of heavy workload, is able to aid other workers in the completion of their work.
- Demonstrates the ability in assist in maintaining food cost through accuracy of recording patient meal orders and tray delivery.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED, (Preferred)
- 1 year Restaurant or Hospital Waiter/Waitress experience (Preferred)
- Allergen Awareness Certification - within 180 Days(Required)
- Food Handlers Card (FH) or Food Protection Manager within 30 Days (Required)
