May float to other practices within the region providing operational support as needed.
What You Will Do
- Accurately completes all required clinical documentation consistently per Riverside Medical Group standards. Maintains documentation for quality assurance to include but not limited to point of care testing, medication logs and annual wellness visits. Works with providers to assure care gaps are routinely addressed with each patient. Documentation is accurate, legible and completed same day. Knowledgeable and skillful in lab functions and lab proficiency testing.
- Provides patient education as needed and educates patients as necessary about the medications prescribed for them. Demonstrates positive patient care by explaining the importance of the completion of registration and patient medical history forms and how it relates to their care at our facility. Provides patient follow up with a sense of urgency regarding lab calls, patient phone calls, prescription fills and refills, referrals and appointment scheduling.
- Answer telephone calls from patients, pharmacies, physicians, vendors, etc. by close of business. Communicate lab/pathology results and schedules additional tests per provider order.
- Ensures proper reimbursement from insurance companies by performing pre-authorization for prescription drugs, procedures, and patient tests.
- Demonstrates the ability to build trusting collaborative relationships with a multi-disciplinary team to support patient care needs. Actively participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings as assigned.
Education
- Program Graduate, Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
- 1 year Nursing experience (Preferred)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire(Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
