Overview
Works under the supervision of the Sr. Manager Imaging Support Services. Primarily responsible for the scheduling of patient appointments within Imaging Services, scheduling tests at appropriate facilities, coordinating completion for insurance mandated referrals and authorizations in a timely manner prior to the date of service, updating patient chart records with necessary referral information, flagging and faxing appropriate medical records, contacting patients via telephone and communicating appointment preparation details.

What You Will Do
- Increase appointment utilization by monitoring department schedules daily. Create additional appointment slots to increase department productivity and communicate appointment changes with patients.
- Provides scheduling services accurately and in the prescribed manner, coordinating multiple procedures with varying departments. Obtains and documents accurate patient demographics, appropriate test, and reason for the test, as well as any other pertinent information specific to the task being scheduled.
- Completes pre-registration and insurance verification accurately following all existing policies and procedures. Works daily queues to ensure patient automations are complete prior to check-in according to patient group/modality assigned.
- Contributes to overall department Time of Service collections. Financial reports indicate team member is effective in communicating patient balance and collecting payments due.
- Processes physician and patient requests for tests and referrals in a timely manner. Responds appropriately and timely to patient calls.
Education
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Associates Degree, (Preferred)
- 1-3 years Business Office Experience (Preferred)
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) (Preferred)
