Production Scheduling and Supervision
This is a full-time position that entails both work and personnel scheduling for the production process flow. The role involves supervising coworkers in their production cell, building their skills to advance, monitor, and continuously improve the production process flow.
The ideal candidate will have understanding of and ability to interpret manufacturing instructions, work instructions/procedures/forms, inspection data, part drawings, and work order data. They must be able to manage their time efficiently and without direct supervision.
The team works with and supports co-workers, management, human resources, customer teams, quality, engineering, and the training department. This position provides professional growth opportunities and requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and coordinate all work activities for coworkers across multiple work centers.
- Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.
- Communicate needs and statuses between areas of the production floor.
- Monitor performance of coworkers and provide feedback to coworkers and managers.
- Identify training opportunities/requirements and recommend training to coworkers and shift leaders.
- Train, mentor, and encourage coworker growth and engagement.
- Manage, review, and edit timecards for coworkers.
- Complete shift paperwork.
- Use Epicor to complete required material movements and research as required.
- Identify, improve, and/or report pick errors, process issues, and quality concerns.
- Read basic work instructions to determine materials staging and preparation methods needed to support assembly work.
- Proactively identify shortages prior to late delivery.
- Utilize time management skills to manage workload efficiently and recognize and recommend overtime needs to management.
- Lead or assist with lean activities such as 5S audits, Gemba walks, Kaizen Projects, Time Studies, and Standard Work implementation.
Qualifications:
- Understanding of and ability to interpret manufacturing instructions, work instructions/procedures/forms, inspection data, part drawings, and work order data.
- Ability to manage your time efficiently and without direct supervision.
- Ability to learn and adhere to all applicable health and safety regulations as well as LEAN manufacturing.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, such as early mornings and overtime.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery.
- Familiarity with the materials, tools, and methods of the process.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills required.
- Knowledge of and ability to learn MRP/MRPII and Epicor software's.
