Roles/Responsibilities:
A Manufacturing Documentation Specialist focuses on creating, updating, and optimizing documentation for both new and existing manufacturing processes. Their primary goal is to enhance productivity and quality by developing clear, comprehensive work instructions, production documentation, and Quality Assurance Plans. This role involves close collaboration with a Manufacturing Engineer, who provides the primary technical input, ensuring that the specialist can focus on effective documentation without needing deep technical expertise.
Duties:
- Develop Production Documentation Standards: Create and maintain clear, consistent standards for production documentation that the company can follow to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Create Work Instructions: Write detailed, user-friendly work instructions for various manufacturing processes to guide production staff.
- Update Existing Documentation: Regularly review and update existing documentation to reflect any process changes or improvements.
- Develop Quality Assurance Plans: Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to create comprehensive Quality Assurance Plans to maintain product quality.
- Train Staff: Train production staff on new and updated documentation and standards to ensure proper implementation.
- Audit Documentation: Perform regular audits of production documentation to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Collaborate with Engineering: Work closely with the engineering department to gather necessary information and incorporate it into production documents.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving documentation processes and implement best practices to enhance productivity and quality.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Information Technology, Science (e.g., Physics, Chemistry), or a related field.
- Experience: Previous experience in a manufacturing environment or in technical documentation preferred, but not mandatory. Willingness to learn and adapt is highly valued.
