The Pharmacy Director – Inpatient RRMC provides leadership and direction for pharmaceutical services and medication use for the facility and ensures that the pharmacy provides optimal services; meets all legal, accreditation, and certification requirements; and complies with applicable policies, procedures, and standards of the organization. They are accountable for the development, implementation, planning, and ongoing management of optimal pharmaceutical care provided throughout the facility and any affiliated outpatient locations. What you will do
- Lead the development, implementation, and execution of the annual departmental strategic goals in collaboration with hospital administration, pharmacy leadership team, physicians, and other key stakeholders
- Work closely with all key stakeholders to identify and execute new and emerging approaches to enhancing pharmacy services
- Collaborate with pharmacy peers across the health system. Play an active role in the development of health system standardization of pharmaceutical services where applicable
- Lead financial planning and budgeting for the department in collaboration with hospital administrators, and other key stakeholders
- Ensures the cost-effectiveness of pharmacy service provisions and operations
- Ensure quality, safety, and patient experience performance expectations are met
- Promote the development and fostering of a strong collaborative pharmacy team. Develop team member and drive positive employee satisfaction.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels to provide safe and effective pharmacy services
- Organize pharmacy department functions through appropriate assignment of responsibilities, delegation of authority, and overall direction of workflow processes
- Ensure consistent compliance with organizational policies and procedures, applicable legislative, regulatory and/or accreditation standards relating to pharmaceuticals within the hospital and other affiliated locations
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors Degree, or higher in Pharmacy (Required)
- Masters Degree, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health (Preferred)
Experience
- 3 years Hospital Pharmacy Experience (Required)
- 3 years Pharmacy Leadership Experience or 3 years ASHP PGY-2 Health System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership Residency experience plus 2 years leadership experience (Required)
- 1 year ASHP PGY 1 Experience (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- Licensed Pharmacist - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Licensed in State of Virginia within 60 Days(Required)
- 340B University ON Demand within 180 Days (Required)
- Advanced 340B Operations Certificate (Apexus) within 2 Years (Preferred)
- Board Certification Pharmacy Specialties within 1 Year (Preferred)
