Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in a long term care enviornment. This role is crucial in delivering high-quality care to individuals with diverse needs, including those requiring infectious disease care, hospice care, and behavioral health support.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
- Help maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Provide compassionate companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to the nursing staff promptly.
- Engage in caregiving activities that promote the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Requirements
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and DME (Durable Medical Equipment) is advantageous.
- Experience in outpatient settings or nursing homes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of infectious disease protocols and hospice care practices is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in various healthcare environments, including urgent care and behavioral health settings.
- Strong communication skills and empathy towards patients are essential for success in this role.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving, including lifting and transferring patients safely.
