Job Description
Position description : The Maintenance Crew Lead must be generally familiar with and in the process of learning all aspects of Landscape Maintenance to include : cleanups, mowing, mulching, pruning, trimming, edging, weed whacking, bed maintenance, etc.; operating all equipment. Requires minimal supervision and conducts all jobs in a safe manner and while helping to direct a crew of two to four employees.
Reports to : The Crew Lead reports directly to the Field Operations Manager
Skill set and educational requirements :
Direct activities on the job site, they include but are not limited to : coordinating work flow, hands on work, and operating a variety of machinery
- Manage personnel effectively and efficiently.
- Communicating production goals (and other items) with crew members, supervisors, and clients
- Train and promote the development of subordinates in the best practices of maintenance and company standards
- Monitor all tools, equipment and machinery for needed maintenance
- Track and record all job related expenses and times, including but not exclusively materials and hours worked
- Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times
- Other duties as required
Responsibilities :
Supervises and manages landscape crew.Ensures that each crew member is trained appropriately for each designated job assignmentParticipates in and conducts all job site safety briefings with crew membersEnsures that all crew members utilize all required personal protective equipmentUnderstands and instructs crew members on proper job site security proceduresEnsures that all maintenance work is performed in accordance with industry and company standardsEnsures that all equipment safety and maintenance procedures are followedPerforms administrative functions pertaining to crew managementInteracts with clientele in order to help ensure job satisfactionUnderstands financial aspects of each job assignmentSupervises all crew members during the performance of all assigned workLeads by exampleReports for duty at the designated location on time each dayFollows directions from supervisorEnsures that all safety rules and company safety policies are adhered toParticipates in all safety training sessions offered, asks questions, and improves job safety skillsCommunicates well with all crew members, supervisor and clientStrives to improve job skills and develop the potential for upward mobilityParticipates in company sponsored First Aid / CPR.Monitors all tools equipment and machinery for needed maintenanceTrack and record all job expenses and hours worked accuratelyMaintain clean and safe job siteTrains crew members the development in the best practices of installation in company standardsRequirements :
3 years’ experienceWork Authorization / Security Clearance (if applicable) U.S. Citizens, Permanent Residents.Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditionsDOT or CDL Certificate (preferred) and reputable driving recordProficient lawn equipment operating skills and other construction equipment as neededlift and carry items weighing approximately 50 pounds,Extensive knowledge and experience in working a variety of landscaping applicationsKnowledge of perennials, shrubs, evergreens, and trees : identification and cultural requirementsHighly motivated, self-driven individual who is detail orientatedExcellent attention to detail while working in a fun & fast paced environmentBilingual a plusVerbal & written communication skillsGood time management skills; be available for long hours all year roundAbility to prioritize and multi-taskAble to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background (i.e. clients, contractors, vendors, other designers)Clean and professional appearancePunctual and dependableWork Environment :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Physical Demands :
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.Position Type / Expected Hours of Work :
This is a seasonal full-time position. Schedule fluctuates Monday through Saturday. Overtime may be required.Salary, bonus, and / or commissions : Commensurate with experience.
