Instructional Assistant Special Ed II
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist a certificated teacher in providing
instruction to individual or small groups of severely, physically or visually handicapped students in a classroom; monitor and report student progress regarding behavior and performance; assist students in developing various self-help, social and community skills.
Intensive Behavior Interventions Assistant
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of an assigned Special Education Manager, assist a certificated teacher in the supervision and instruction of special education students in a variety of educational settings including the home, community and classroom. With schools dating back to the 1870s, the award-winning Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) is now the 16th largest school district in California. RUSD educates nearly 42,000 students across 50 schools in Riverside. The District serves a large portion of Riverside as well as the unincorporated areas of Highgrove and Woodcrest. RUSD is led by its 12th Superintendent, Ms. Renee Hill and is governed by a Board of Education comprised of publicly elected officials who serve five different trustee areas. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two to three years experience in working with school-age children in an organized setting.
LICENSE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Must pass equivalent academic assessment test that demonstrates knowledge of and the ability to assist in teaching reading, writing and mathematics or reading, writing and mathematics readiness.
• A valid California's driver’s license and proof of current and appropriate auto insurance coverage (for Intensive Behavior Interventions Assistant position only).
Salary : $20 - $21
