What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Grounds Maintenance Worker I position at Riverside Unified School District (RUSD)?
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, oversee the coordination of a
gardening team in the performance of general and varied grounds maintenance and gardening work at District sites; plant, spray, fertilize, prune, irrigate and maintain lawns, trees, shrubs, athletic fields and landscaped areas; oversee the issuance of supplies, materials and equipment; train and provide work direction to assigned staff. With schools dating back to the 1870s, the award-winning Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) is now the 16th largest school district in California. RUSD educates nearly 42,000 students across 50 schools in Riverside. The District serves a large portion of Riverside as well as the unincorporated areas of Highgrove and Woodcrest. RUSD is led by its 12th Superintendent, Ms. Renee Hill and is governed by a Board of Education comprised of publicly elected officials who serve five different trustee areas. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years of experience with grounds and gardening maintenance.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid California Driver's License.
