What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal, the Elementary School on the Eastside position at Riverside Unified School District (RUSD)?
With schools dating back to the 1870s, the award-winning Riverside Unified School District (RUSD) is now the 16th largest school district in California. RUSD educates nearly 42,000 students across 50 schools in Riverside. The District serves a large portion of Riverside as well as the unincorporated areas of Highgrove and Woodcrest. RUSD is led by its 12th Superintendent, Ms. Renee Hill and is governed by a Board of Education comprised of publicly elected officials who serve five different trustee areas. Under the direction of the Superintendent, oversee the operations of an assigned school according to the established philosophy, policies, goals and priorities of the Board of Education; improve the instructional program, oversee and participate in personnel management activities and functions, work with the community, manage the school, and oversee the overall operations and activities of the District. The principal will provide leadership in the development, implementation and facilitation of the strategic support structure necessary to ensure student achievement and facilitate accomplishment of board priorities, increased student learning, and improved state indicator metrics.

- Develop and implement an instructional program according to the District- adopted Courses of study and curriculums that meet the needs of students with consideration given to various races, creeds and socio-economic status
- Support the board priorities
- Focus on district and school wide goals and initiatives
- Focus on increasing student learning outcomes and improving state indicators
- Support a culture designed to meet the needs of all students
- Utilize available resources of time, space, personal expertise, community expertise, and staff expertise to improve the instructional program
- Incorporate auxiliary services of the psychologist, speech-language hearing specialist, library clerks, resource specialist, nurse, and other district personnel improve the instructional program
