What are the responsibilities and job description for the Client Engagement Manager position at RiverSource?
The CEM, works with clients and beneficiaries both inside and outside of the distribution channels. Goal is to educate them on the implications of surrendering or transferring a RiverSource contract to ensure the client is fully educated on their current product, including surrender fees and product benefits, features, and considerations may be unique to their current RiverSource contract. By educating the client/beneficiary, assets may be maintained by the company. Compensation includes both a base and a variable component.
Key Responsibilities
Execute outbound calls to beneficiaries of annuity accounts to educate them on settlement options
Take inbound/outbound calls from clients requesting to cash surrender their annuity, life insurance, and/or disability contract.
Review information from multiple sources/systems to fully understand the client's current contract features, as well as contract features of third party providers.
Educate the client on the impacts of surrendering their RiverSource contracts, including surrender fees and product benefits and features that may be unique to their current product.
Educate clients on product features of the RiverSource product and any relevant information on third party products.
Work with other areas of the organization, including claims, to ensure that the clients are provided excellent level of service through the transaction to move or retain their accounts.
Required Qualifications
High School or equivalent
Series 6 (if not actively held, ability to obtain within 90 days of hire. If multiple exams are required, an additional 90-days will be added after successfully passing each exam).
Life Insurance license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
3 - 5 year's relevant experience
1 - 3 yrs. direct sales experience (preferably by phone)
Proven customer service ability
Excellent time management skills

Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $43,000 / year variable commission targets. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
