What are the responsibilities and job description for the Divisional Sales Director- RiverSource position at RiverSource?
The RiverSource DSD will provide leadership to internal sales desk professionals who support (individually) both Insurance and Annuity product lines and ensure efficiency to the wholesaling team and process. Support wholesaling strategies to drive goal attainment. Effectively utilize available data to monitor and enhance the quality and effectiveness of sales support and/or the sales effort. Prepare sales reports and other metrics for management.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership to internal sales desk professionals (RSD and/or NSC) including coaching and development. Manage performance metrics and expectations, utilizing leading indicators and scorecards. Establishes and maintains an environment and sales culture that attracts, motivates, retains and inspires team Conduct continual performance and skill assessment of internal sales desk professionals.
Effectively partner with sales management and sales support areas, including marketing, product development, new business, underwriting and service delivery on commitments to clients and advisors. Assist in the development and implementation of sales training programs.
Partner with Divisional Vice President (DVP) to ensure wholesaling team is partnering in an effective manner to manage the territory. Provide training and sales coaching to wholesaling teams to strengthen sales acumen.
Work with senior management to develop the department's strategic plans, objectives and goals. Prepare sales reports and other metrics for management that provide insights to leading and lagging indicators and influence coaching and territory management plans.
Recommend appropriate staffing levels, provide input to the budget process, and make decisions regarding hiring, compensation, performance appraisals, training and development, and other related personnel actions. In addition, assist in the development and implementation of sales training.
Drive a culture of compliance, including on going call monitoring, coaching and feedback. Monitor and enhance the quality and effectiveness of telephone sales efforts of their sales desk personnel.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Series 6 and 26 OR Series 7 and 24 (or ability to obtain S24 within 60 days of hire).

Resident State Insurance Licenses (Variable Life & Health)
7 to 10 years relevant Experience
5 years of industry related experience with at least 2 years on an annuity/insurance sales desk required.
Ability to lead, coach, mentor and develop sales professionals.
Strong knowledge of insurance company products and services.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous leadership and/or mentorship experience

Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $95,000 / year variable comp targets. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
