Overview
The role of Administrative Assistant at the Hebrew Home at Riverdale by RiverSpring Living, a world-renowned long-term care organization located in Riverdale - North Bronx, supervises overall administrative activities, secretarial duties, record keeping, credentialing administrative duties and functions to assist the Medical Director in meeting the administrative needs of the Medical Department and the Home in accordance with current applicable Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Medical Director, to assure that proper administrative procedures are maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
Our ideal candidate will serves as a liaison between the Medical Director, staff physicians and consultant staff. Manages our Medical Director Outlook calendar, schedules appointments, processes mail, answers phones, etc. Keeps medical director advised of meetings, appointments and deadlines. Coordinates for ongoing in-service education and orientation for newly assigned personnel, including appropriate record keeping. Schedules new employees for pre-employment health assessment and annual physical examination. Answers incoming calls from patient family members and forwards calls to the respective physician.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, indicate the type of education, training, license, registration, certification, language skills, mathematical skills, computer skills and/or experience required to qualify for this position. HS or GED required, AA degree preferred. Experience minimum two (2) years in an administrative role. Language Skills – Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Math Skills- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Basic computer skills. Type a minimum of 40 - 50 wpms . Must be able to speak, write and read English.
Compensation:$55-$60K Annually
