We have an immediate full-time opening for a Plant Operator/Mechanic at our Valley Plant in the Galesburg, IL area. This is a 1st shift, Monday through Friday position, with occasional Saturdays required depending on business needs. Candidates must be dependable and available to work overtime as needed. Flexibility in their day, ability to adapt to changes, and the willingness to help the team in whatever way is needed is crucial. Plant Operator/Mechanic Candidate Requirements
- Safety-Focused
- Driven to provide excellent customer service
- 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment
- Ability to perform duties in all weather conditions
- Must have strong mechanical aptitude
- Self-motivated with a solid work ethic
- Follow all safety and environmental rules, regulations and procedures as set forth by company policies and MSHA
- Operate a skid loader and medium-sized front-end loader (similar to a CAT 980)
- Provide excellent customer service through positive interaction with customers and haulers.
- Use tablet-based communication system to manage customer transactions and needs.
- Perform pre-shift inspections, fueling and greasing, preventive maintenance, and cleaning as required.
- Communicate with management on all safety, maintenance, and production needs
- Perform other tasks (including tasks outside core responsibilities) as assigned by supervisor
