We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Information Services to lead our IS department, as the Director of IS, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technological landscape of the organization. You will oversee the development and implementation of Information Technology initiatives that align with business goals, ensuring that our systems are secure, efficient, and scalable. This is a leadership position that requires a strategic thinker, a problem-solver, and an effective communicator. You will report directly to the Chief Information Officer and work Closely with the Director of Clinical Informatics to ensure success.
Job Summary
The Director of Information Services is responsible for the development, implementation and support of technology infrastructure operations and the provision of analysis and technical advisement, project management and programming activities to improve processes using information technologies. This position provides strategic infrastructure support and provides a safe, compliant, robust, reliable, scalable, and efficient infrastructure.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day support of all production platforms to ensure availability, integrity, and confidentiality of network, servers, telecommunications, and information.
- Develop, implement, and support organization-wide multi-user computing systems to maintain optimal performance and ensure availability of the network and computing systems.
- Evaluate infrastructure technologies to assess efficiency in meeting strategic initiatives and identify opportunities for quality improvement.
- Review IS infrastructure projects to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards.
- Perform standard managerial responsibilities for IS Infrastructure teams, including hiring, training, and managing the performance of direct and indirect reports.
- Define, schedule, and coordinate direct reports workload, tasks, and IS tickets.
- Develop and manage department budgets, reporting, and overall direction and guidance of staff.
- Establish benchmarks and ensure goals are met within the Information Services department.
- Collaborate with other fields/departments within Riverview Health to ensure infrastructure technology meets the needs and requirements and consult on technology issues or concerns.

- Identify, initiate, and manage assigned projects. Involve customers in project development. Identify critical milestones and targets to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Oversee Change Management for IS Infrastructure activities.
- Develop, report and adhere to IS service level agreements and ensure output meets customer specifications and /or optimizes workflow.

Education Requirements
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Ten (10) years of technology related experience. Four (4) years in a leadership or Director level position within the IT field. Four (4) years of experience working in a healthcare environment.
- Preferred: Experience leading complex multi-functional engineering teams and projects in a healthcare environment.
