The Medical Office Records Clerk is responsible for the following duties:
- Properly handles medical records consistent with institutional goals and standards of accrediting, regulatory agencies, legal requirements and department guidelines.
- Works independently to complete duties, consulting with clinical and non-clinical staff and adheres to established priority flow to ensure timeliness.
- Applies HIPAA Privacy regulations as appropriate in carrying out duties.
- Communicates with physicians and other providers and other staff members regarding medical records.
- Assists with team projects in area of expertise to contribute to achievement of common goals and objectives.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
