Job Summary:
Riverview Healthcare Center is seeking a Activities Assistant/Driver who has a kind approach with the elderly, is a good listener, can build rapport easily, and safely, timely, and reliably transport residents to and from appointments and the center.
Essential Functions:
Activities Assistant
- Implement group programming that promotes interaction between residents.
- Notifies residents and staff of activity schedules.
- Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Director in order to provide:
- A friendly visitor.
- Sensory stimulation.
- Reality orientation.
- A means of meeting individual needs as outlined in each resident’s Activity Plan.
- Selects residents and communicates with nursing personnel for purpose of assistance in transporting residents to and from general activity areas.
- Responsible for general housekeeping duties in Activity areas
Driver
- Maintain safe and courteous motor vehicle operation in compliance with applicable laws.
- Perform safe transfer of residents from bed to chair, chair to bed.
- Perform safe loading and unloading of residents to and from transport van.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to maintain safe operation of the vehicle.
- Report vehicle accidents, traffic citations, or incidents immediately and complete required reports.
EDUCATION, LICENSURE, AND EXPERIENCE
- Required: Valid driver’s license and has an acceptable driving record
- Required: 18 years or older
- Required: CNA License required within 4 months of hire
- Course offered at facility
