Security Officer Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor Access: Oversee and authorize entry and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons, ensuring security and preventing unauthorized access.
- Report Activity: Document daily activities, noting any irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Emergency Response: Contact police, fire, or emergency services as needed in cases of fire, medical incidents, or other emergencies.
- Investigate Disturbances: Respond to and investigate disturbances to maintain peace and security.
- Patrol Premises: Regularly patrol buildings and grounds to prevent signs of intrusion and ensure doors, windows, and gates are secure.
- Escort Services: Provide transportation or escort individuals within the community for safety and personal protection.
- Enforce Rules: Warn individuals of rule infractions or violations to uphold community standards.
- Inspect Security Systems: Check and adjust security equipment and systems to maintain operational use and detect tampering or issues.
- Monitor Building Controls: Oversee building systems, including HVAC controls, to ensure optimal and secure operations.
Security Officer Job Requirements:
- Prior experience in security preferred.
- Strong observational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license.
