In order to continue to reach our goals as a company, we are seeking an experienced Activity Director to join our team. Candidates should be able to perform the essential responsibilities as well as meet the qualifications listed.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and promote recreation programs including music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural arts, nature study, social recreation and physically and mentally stimulation exercises.
- Keep abreast of current events within the community and utilize available resources.
- Organize and maintain both daily and monthly schedule of activities. Inform and assist residents regarding activities.
- Develop resident’s council/grievance committee to encourage the residents’ involvement and provides means for ensuring the rights of residents.
- Supervise volunteer support.
Qualifications:
- Activity Director Certification preferred
- Previous nursing home experience preferred
- Previous supervisory experience preferred

The Activity Director will be responsible for the co-ordination of the entire activity program within the facility; to include and consider all resident’s needs, interests, and abilities. Strive to enrich the resident’s lifestyle by promoting an optimum level of constructive and quality leisure time activities. Work closely with the facility operators and staff to create a home-like atmosphere.
Plan, organize and direct activities of all residents by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate personnel.
Coordinate activities of paid and volunteer recreation service personnel in public departments, voluntary agencies, or similar type facilities by performing the following duties.
Maintain Rights of Residents as set forth by the Texas Department of Health Laws and Regulations.
