Responsibilities as a Cook
Food Preparation / Production Responsibilities
Reviews menus, production and prep guides to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared.’
Prepares all meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes in a sanitary manner to ensure the utmost quality with a minimum of waste.
Uses nutritionally equivalent substitutes when required.
Operates a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment, such as blender, mixer, fryer, slicer, steamer, food processor, convection oven, stove, conventional oven, steam table and tilt skillet.
Follow recipes.
Prepares and assists with special function meals.
Completes work assignments

Qualifications of a Cook
Primary series of the COVID-19 vaccine required
High school diploma preferred.
Prior work experience with food preparation a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
