Project Search Instructor

Project SEARCH Instructor Riverview School is an independent coeducational boarding/day school, providing a caring community and learning environment for adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning and cognitive disabilities. The Project SEARCH program is a vocational program where students receive extensive on-the-job training and career exploration opportunities to prepare for competitive employment. Founded in 1996 and currently replicated at 300 locations throughout the world, Riverview was the first Project SEARCH affiliate in Massachusetts. We have an immediate opening for a Full-Time Project SEARCH Instructor. Essential Job Functions: •Provide instruction of vocational skills and financial management, following Project SEARCH guidelines and curriculum •Engage students in on-the-job training at Falmouth and Cape Cod Hospital health care sites in a variety of occupations •Adapt job skill training to meet the individual needs of students •Collaborate and communicate with mentors and Cape Cod Healthcare liaison to facilitate a mutually beneficial partnership •Collect individual student data weekly •Report on student progress quarterly Requirements: •Experience working with students with learning and intellectual disabilities •Willingness to engage in professional development to gain the knowledge necessary to effectively work with the Riverview student profile •Demonstrate an understanding of the School mission and adhere to all policies and procedures. •Related experience (experience in an independent school environment preferred) •Strong ability to incorporate technology into instruction •Exceptional written, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills •Ability to handle a fast-paced environment •Passion for Riverview’s mission, Project SEARCH mission and the field of special education •Meet all Project SEARCH criteria for hire •Current/valid driver’s license and ability to drive students •Suitable background check results (CORI, SORI, DCF) and fingerprinting required •Legal authorization to work in the US No phone calls please.
