THE ROLE
The Director of Assessment and Intake performs the evaluation and admission process in conjunction with the on-call physician. The Director of Assessment and Intake directs the assessment department activities and monitors the quality of services provided.

To qualify for the Director of Assessment and Intake position, you must have :
Master’s degree in social work or counseling required. RN Licensure may be used in place of master’s degree or per state regulations.Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients preferred.Strong clinical assessment skills.Current unencumbered clinical social work or counseling license : LSW, LISW, BSW, MSW, LPC, or LPCC required. RN license may be accepted.Valid driver’s license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using own vehicle.CPR and Handle with Care (HWC) certified within 30 days.Ability to work flexible hours and to meet typing keyboard expectations.With proper credentials, Supervisor may be required to complete vitals check on patients.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As Director of Assessment and Intake , you will :
Facilitate response to request for services, including the initial response, the assessment and referral process, the designation of appropriate level of care, admission into services, and appropriate follow-up activity.Conduct initial evaluation, initiate the assessment , document patient symptomology, functioning, needs, and provide information to the MD for LOC determination.Demonstrate excellent customer service skills in assisting patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers in a prompt and courteous manner.Possess clear knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.Maintain all preadmission and admission paperwork with accuracy.Complete all pre-certification with insurance companies.Ensure appropriate staffing for shift. Minimize use of overtime. Monitor attendance.Educate and coach staff and act as a point person for clinical decisions.Ensure staff has completed all needed documentation, call logging, insurance calls, and additional tasks prior to the end of shift.Particpate in all leadership meetings including FLASH, Quality, and others as assigned.Keep informed about Joint Commission and State regulations.Keep and build community relationships and partner with business development team to ensure a positive experience for referral sources and patients / families.Provide training and orientation for all staff and departmental staff as needed (may be multiple times a month).Work collaboratively with facility leadership team and participate in system-wide trainings and initiatives as requested.Qualified candidates, apply now for a chance to join our outstanding team as we Inspire Hope, Restore Peace of Mind, and Heal Lives .
