About the Position:
The Patient Access Clerk is responsible for verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information, collecting necessary documentation, and scheduling patient appointments. This role ensures a smooth and efficient scheduling process while delivering excellent customer service to patients and providers. The patient access clerk plays a critical role in patient access, ensuring timely scheduling, verifying insurance eligibility, and providing necessary instructions to patients.
What we are looking for:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in patient registration, scheduling, or a healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and scheduling systems preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
