Hotel Housekeeper Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize guest rooms, including bathrooms, sleeping areas, and common areas, to the resort’s high standards.
- Dust and polish various surfaces and furniture
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
- Empty trash and dispose of waste properly.
- Replenish linens, towels, and bath care products (e.g. soap and shampoo)
- Clean and change linens and towels and replace toiletries
- Restock cleaning supplies in the hand cart
- Clean public areas, like corridors
- Report any technical issues and maintenance needs
- Respond to guests’ queries (e.g. on additional services)
- Help guests retrieve lost items
- Ensure all assigned rooms are clean and tidy by the end of the shift
- Replace linens, towels, and amenities as needed.
- Inspect rooms for any maintenance issues or damages and report them promptly to the management team.
- Restock housekeeping carts and supplies at the end of each shift.
- Report on low supplies for reordering by manager
- Follow health and safety regulations and ensure compliance with the resort’s cleaning policies.
Hotel Housekeeper Requirements and Qualifications
- Ability to please guests and make them feel welcome and comfortable
- Friendly demeanor with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina to be on your feet for the duration of the shift with a high level of energy
- Physically capable of standing, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds overhead
- Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and supplies
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions and communicate via text
- Technologically savvy enough to record checkouts on company software and delete door codes
- Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to follow instructions
- Time-management skills
- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays.
