Role Summary
As the Engineering Manager for Visual & Video Feature Engineering, you will lead a talented engineering team focused on delivering cutting-edge visual, video, and augmented reality features, leveraging advanced in-house AI technologies. This role will serve as a champion of visual and video innovations, advocating for software-defined vehicle (SDV) applications and rallying stakeholders to execute impactful, cross-functional engineering projects.
You will oversee the design, development, and deployment of computer vision and AI-powered features for cameras, video, and visual systems, ensuring a seamless experience for Rivian’s customers. The ideal candidate has an advanced degree in engineering, a passion for visual technologies, and extensive experience leading engineering teams to successfully launch vision-focused products at scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of vision, video, and augmented reality features for SDVs, using AI core technologies developed in-house.
- Advocate for visual and video-centric SDV features, working closely with product management, design, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Oversee end-to-end project execution, from concept development to production launch, ensuring quality, scalability, and timely delivery.
- Drive architectural decisions and design trade-offs for scalable, high-performance software solutions.
- Stay abreast of industry advancements in computer vision, augmented reality, and AI, integrating them into product roadmap.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within your team and across the organization.

Pay Disclosure
Salary Range / Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants : 146,000 - 184,000 USD (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
Benefits Summary : Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies provides robust medical / Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
