What are the responsibilities and job description for the Group Leader - End of Line position at Rivian Automotive?
ROLE SUMMARY
In this unique leadership tech role, you will lead a team that is responsible for Rivian vehicles as they leave the plant ready for their adventures. As vehicles role off the assembly line, your team will get to go over them with a fine-toothed comb, finding any issues, diagnosing concerns, and ensuring that anything you find is fully resolved to the highest standards of quality and workmanship before the vehicle is shipped to a customer. You’ll also be able to suggest changes to products and processes to help the team improve. Every day, you will get to use your high degree of initiative and tenacity and your passion for finding root causes and resolving problems. This will regularly give you new opportunities to develop your skills as you grow your automotive expertise.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Specific primary responsibilities are defined by the following, but not limited to;
- Direct supervision of Technicians, Team Leaders and Team Members within End of Line department
- Responsible for training, developing, teaching, and evaluating employees
- Maintains a high-quality relationship with production managers regarding schedules and needed support
- Performs and teaches all processes and assignment within the department with the ability to fill in as needed
- Support and participate in pilot programs and change activities
- Monitoring and control of capital and expense spending.
- Responsible for the safety of employees and that all production equipment is in safe operating condition in conjunction with the safety committee and EH&S manager
- Determine team member activity including recommendation of hiring, firing, performance, wage, and salary reviews
- May perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of manufacturing or mechanical experience.
- 3 years in manufacturing supervision OR a combination of education and experience.
- Technical Bachelor's Degree Preferred
- Experience mentoring and coaching others
- 2 years of EV experience preferred
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of EV Powertrains and HV systems
- Strong written and communications skills
- Strong organization skills with attention to detail
- Experience using a variety of test tools including a PICO-scope, PCAN, Kavaser Memorator and breakout box is a plus
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours per day.
- Required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather.
Salary : $77,600 - $98,300
